New Delhi: The central government has extended the nationwide Kovid Protocol till 31 October. In a letter to the Chief Secretaries of all the states and union territories, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla warned that there is a possibility of non-compliance of the Kovid protocol strictly in the coming festive season, due to which the cases of Coronavirus will increase again. Might be possible.
Absolutely no negligence in covid protocol
Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said that despite the decrease in the number of cases of Kovid-19, it is important to implement the guidelines so that the festival can be celebrated with caution, in a safe manner and with covid protocol. Bhalla said that the daily cases of Kovid and the total number of patients are decreasing rapidly in the country but the virus is spreading locally in some states and Covid-19 remains a challenge to public health in the country.
Be careful during festivals
The Centre's letter to the states read, 'Great caution should be exercised in those programs in which a large number of people will be involved so that the possibility of increase in the cases of Kovid-19 can be avoided.' It has also been said, 'Covid-19 cases can increase in the country due to large-scale gathering of people in fairs, festivals and religious programs.' The Home Secretary said that the states and union territories should keep a close watch on the infection rate in each district and the number of beds in hospitals and ICUs.
Where there is more infection, fast steps should be taken
The Union Home Secretary said that in the districts where the infection rate is high, the concerned administration should take swift steps so that the increase in cases can be stopped and the spread of the virus can be controlled. Bhalla said that it is also important that the warning signs of the possibility of increase in cases are recognized early and measures are taken to control the spread. He said, 'This will require a local approach, which is mentioned in the advisory of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare dated 21 September 2021.'
