Question: You were bought by Mumbai Indians for 1.70 crores, where will you spend this amount?

Answer: My father Namburi Nagaraju is an electrician. The household expenses were also barely met. We were two brothers. The elder brother wanted to make a career in studies, while I wanted to become a cricketer. Father has made many sacrifices to fulfill the dreams of both of us.

I still remember that when I used to ask my father to buy some stuff, he would not refuse, only said that give me a few days' time. Then father used to bring those goods and give them in a few days. For this, many times they did not even buy their essential things. I want to buy a house in Hyderabad to my father and mother with the money I get from IPL.

Question: Did you expect to get this amount, were you watching the auction?

Answer: I did not expect such amount. I was watching the auction on a video call with my coach Salaam Bayash. I had gone to Odisha to play Ranji. I was shocked and very nervous when my name came up for auction and Rajasthan Royals placed the bid, followed by Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings also showing interest in buying me.

I wanted Mumbai Indians to take me. I was overjoyed when Mumbai joined them by making the last bid. Then I talked to the family members. They were all very happy. He was not sure that he would get that much amount. My father got emotional. They were unable to say anything.

Question: Why did you want to go with Mumbai Indians? Who are your favorite players in Mumbai?

Answer: Ever since IPL started I used to follow Sachin sir and Rohit sir in Mumbai Indians. I used to think that whenever I get a chance to play in IPL, I should play for Mumbai only. I am thankful that Mumbai Indians fulfilled my wish by joining them. Rohit sir and Sachin sir both are my favourites. I am looking forward to playing under Rohit sir's guidance.

Question: The opening pair of Rohit-Ishaan is present in Mumbai Indians. Are you ready to bat in the other batting order?

Answer: I am ready to bat in the middle order also. During first-class cricket for Hyderabad, I have scored runs in the middle order. I can bat at any number as per the requirement of the team.

Question: You are from Hyderabad. Hyderabad is the bastion of badminton. There are badminton players like PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, then why did you come to cricket?

Answer: When I was young, I used to watch cricket on TV. Was a fan of Sachin sir, used to copy Sachin sir's batting style while playing in the street. In 2007 itself, Team India won the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. There was an atmosphere of cricket in the country. My interest also grew. After playing well in the street, other children motivated them to go to the academy and play. Then I started going to Salaam Bayash sir for training.
