LIVE ANALYSIS OF PUNJAB RESULT: AAP reached door to door with guarantee card; Bring out new candidates in villages and people with mass base in cities by bringing them from other parties

The victory of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab is a success of its electoral strategy. As the elections neared, AAP started the campaign with the issues. Talked about good government schools and better hospitals. Then announced to give 400 units of free electricity and one thousand rupees per month to every woman above 18 years. After this, go a step ahead and get the guarantee card filled from door to door.

Through this, even before the announcement of elections, AAP had reached the door-to-door of the poor and Dalit brotherhood. People in the villages were in support of AAP, so gave tickets to undisputed faces. It was getting a bit difficult in the cities, in such a situation, about 50 leaders of other parties having their own base were included in the party and gave them tickets. The result was that the Aam Aadmi Party won from the villages as well as the cities.

Understand how you benefited from these 3 big issues?

1. Sensing change, Kejriwal started asking for an opportunity: In Punjab, AAP was adamant on issues. Suddenly the talk of change came out of the villages, then Arvind Kejriwal immediately changed the way of campaigning. They started asking for a chance. Its big impact was seen in Malwa, where AAP won 65 out of 69 seats.

Timely reply of Punjabi Vs Bahri: Congress called AAP an outsider party. Seeing the opportunity, Kejriwal declared Bhagwant Mann as the CM face. From feedback to announcement, it was made such an event that it was discussed on the tongues of supporters and opponents. When there was a question on Kejriwal asking for an opportunity, he immediately changed the slogan and started asking for an opportunity in the name of Bhagwant Mann.

3. Told the farmer leader responsible for not forming an alliance: The biggest concern of AAP was the United Samaj Morcha of 22 farmers' organizations contesting the elections in Punjab. Farmer leader Balbir Rajewal kept denying the alliance with AAP, but Kejriwal openly accepted it. Kejriwal said that he had declared 90 seats, Rajewal did not agree to take the remaining seats. Votes did not get divided due to the message of power-longing of the farmers' leaders in the villages.

Understand the results in terms of caste and dera?

Dera Factor: Dera Sacha Sauda claimed that they have 5 to 20 thousand votes in every seat. He supported Akali Dal and BJP. Both of them were badly defeated in Malwa, which claimed the dominance of the camp. Now a debate has started on whether the devotees did not listen to the dera or there is no such thing as a dera factor. This is because in 2017 Akali Dal got only 15 seats despite getting support of Dera.

Dalit Factor: There are 32% Dalit voters in Punjab. Congress played this card by making Charanjit Channi the CM face. Congress did not get unilateral benefit from this. You had already infiltrated through guarantee in Doaba, which is called Dalit Land. Then you increased the education of the children of the Dalit brotherhood and closer to them on the pretext of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. BSP also has 5 to 10 thousand vote bank in the seats here, which went to the account of Akali Dal.

JattSikh Factor: Punjab has 19% Jatt Sikh population. Their emphasis may not be there in voting, but there is definitely interference in power. The Aam Aadmi Party made Bhagwant Mann coming from the JattSikh community as the CM face. On the contrary, Congress played bets on Channi by ignoring Jatt Sikh faces Navjot Sidhu and Sukhjinder Randhawa. You got the benefit of this. Sukhbir is also from the JattSikh community but his leadership was not liked by the Akali Dal cadre.

Hindu Vote Bank: There is 38% Hindu vote bank in Punjab. Kejriwal also understood this. CM Channi linked PM Modi's security lapse with Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat. On the contrary, Kejriwal linked it to the fear of Hindus. Everyone was silent on this except the BJP, but Kejriwal raised this issue openly on the pretext of traders. Tricolor march was taken out in Hindu voter dominated areas. As a result, in the last days of Kejriwal, people did not give preference to the allegations of Khalistani links.
