Operation Ganga LIVE: The last phase of the campaign continues, today 2135 Indians returned from 11 flights; 1500 citizens will return from 8 flights on Monday

Today is the 11th day of the Ukraine-Russia war. While making an important announcement today, the Indian Embassy in Hungary has said that the last phase of Operation Ganga is starting from today. In such a situation, the people trapped there reach Hungaria City Center in Budapest between 10 am and 12 am local time today.


On Sunday, 2135 Indians returned home from 11 flights under Operation Ganga. According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, 15 thousand 900 Indian citizens have returned to the country so far. Operation Ganga began on 22 February. According to the ministry, a total of 8 special flights will be operated tomorrow i.e. on Monday. Of these, 5 will operate from Budapest. Altogether 1500 Indians will be brought home.

Earlier on Sunday, a special flight carrying 182 Indian nationals reached Mumbai from Bucharest, Romania. At the same time, another flight reached Delhi from Budapest carrying 183 students. Apart from this, Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft carrying 210 passengers landed at Hindon airbase near Delhi. So far, 575 passengers have reached Delhi and Mumbai by three aircraft.


According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, 2135 Indians were brought back today by 11 special flights from neighboring countries of Ukraine under Operation Ganga. With this, more than 15,900 Indians have been brought back by special flights since 22 February 2022.

Student returned with pet cat

The student said - my cats are my life.

One of the rescued students from Ukraine has also brought a pet cat with him. He told- The Indian embassy helped to get my pet back with them. My cats are my life, I could not leave them in Ukraine. I request everyone to bring back their pets.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai handed over a check of Rs 25 lakh to the family of Naveen Shekharappa, an MBBS student who was killed during shelling in Ukraine. CM said- We will also give a job to any member of the family. Naveen's body will also be brought here at the earliest.


The people of Slovakia and Ukraine helped

Mohan Kumar, a student who came to Delhi from Kosice, Slovakia, told – I had come from Ivano-Frankivsk. The border was crossed on 3 March. The people of Slovakia and Ukraine helped us a lot, arranged for food and shelter. We came with the help of Slovakia to the Indian Embassy.


PM held a meeting regarding Operation Ganga

Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again held a high level meeting on the Ukraine crisis on Saturday. This is the 9th meeting of the PM in the last 4 days. It is being told that till now the PM took complete information about the operation Ganga being conducted to evacuate Indian students. Along with this, instructions were given to expedite the operation of the return of the remaining stranded Indians. Let us tell you that the PM is constantly holding such meetings to evacuate the Indians trapped in Ukraine and is monitoring the situation himself.
