PAK's claim proved to be true: Indian Army missile fell 124 km into Pakistan; India said - went by mistake

The Indian Defense Ministry has accepted that on March 9, an Indian missile had fallen 124 km inside Pakistani territory. The Defense Ministry said in a statement issued on Friday evening – this incident happened due to 'accidental firing'. This incident happened on 9 March 2022 due to technical reasons during routine maintenance. The government has taken the matter seriously and orders of the High Level Court of Inquiry have been issued. We express grief over the incident. The good thing is that there was no casualty due to this accidental firing.

How did the matter unfold

The incident was disclosed by Major General Babar Iftikhar, the DG of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, in a press conference on Thursday evening. Babar had said – Whatever was fired on our country by India, you can call it super sonic flying object or missile. There was no weapon or gunpowder in it. So, there was no devastation.

Before Babur's press conference, there were reports in the Pakistani media that an Indian private aircraft had crashed in the Mian Channu area. The Pakistani army was also telling Mian Channu near Multan at the scene of the incident.

Map also released

DG ISPR said – On March 9, at 6.43 pm, a missile was fired from India towards Pakistan at a very high speed. Our air defense system spotted it on the radar, but it quickly fell in the Miyan Channu area. It took 3 minutes to reach Pakistan from the border. A total distance of 124 km was covered from the border. It crashed at 6.50. Some houses and properties were damaged. This missile was fired from Sirsa, India. In terms of timing and map, this projectile (missile without weapons) covered a distance of 261 km in 7 minutes.

This flight route has been issued by the Pakistan Army. In this, the Pakistani Time (PST) has been told for the missile to be fired, crossed the border and hit.

Received flight map information

Babar said- Our team has traced the flight route of this missile. This is a very dangerous step, because at the time when this missile was fired, there were many flights operational in the airspace of India and Pakistan and a major accident could have happened. Give a direct answer on this matter from India. Earlier his submarines were seen near Karachi.

which was the missile

Pakistani journalist Mohammad Ibrahim Qazi claimed on social media that the name of the missile launched from India is BrahMos. Its range is 290 km. The Indian Air Force keeps its stock in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. However, the Pakistani army claims that this missile was fired from Sirsa in Haryana.

Have a look at BrahMos

BrahMos is a supersonic cruise missile, which can be launched from submarine, ship, aircraft or land. The name of the BrahMos missile is derived from the names of the Brahmaputra of India and the Moskva rivers of Russia.

BrahMos is based on Russia's P-800 Oakins cruise missile technology. This missile has been handed over to the three wings of the Indian Army, Army, Navy and Air Force.

There are several versions of the BrahMos missile. The land-launched, ship-launched, submarine-launched air-launched versions of BrahMos have been tested.

When fired from land or sea, BrahMos can decimate its target at a speed of Mach 2 above (2500 km/h) in a range of 290 km.

The BrahMos missile can be launched from a submarine from a depth of 40-50 meters under water. The test launch of the BrahMos missile from a submarine was done in 2013.
