Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary has said that given the current geo-political situation, the Indian Air Force needs to be ready for short but intense war at short notice. Simultaneously, gearing up for a prolonged standoff, as we are witnessing in Ladakh right now, has to be geared up.
Addressing a seminar, Air Chief Marshal Choudhary said the Army needs to be prepared for 'short swift wars'. He said that in view of the recent experiences of the Air Force and the evolving geopolitical situation, it is imperative for the Army to be prepared for any operation and equipment at all times.
He said that place and time are most important in the army. He said that there has been a big change in the operational preparedness of the army so that it can be prepared for high intensity operations in the shortest possible time. The IAF chief said that the supply of logistics would be extremely challenging in such a situation, as the army has a vast and diversified force.
Therefore, there will be a need to keep the resources ready for any contingency and keep their supply smooth. Therefore, there should be an emphasis on manufacturing all the important components and other equipment in the country itself, so that the goal of self-reliant India can be achieved. He said that logistics has been considered as an important tool for the economic development of the country. It has emerged as an important link for ease of doing business and global supply.
