Gujarat's second consecutive win: Ferguson hits a four after Shubman's brilliant fifty, beat DC by 14 runs

Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 14 runs in the second match of IPL on Saturday. Gujarat had given a target of 172 by batting first. Shubman Gill played a brilliant innings of 84 runs.

Captain Rishabh Pant scored the highest 43 runs for DC chasing the target. Apart from them, no batter could last. There was a controversy over the run out of Lalit Yadav (25) and Pant also appeared unhappy with the third umpire's decision.

Ferguson bowled brilliantly for Gujarat and took 4 wickets. After this, Shami took 2 wickets - completed the right task. Captain Hardik did an all-round performance. Apart from scoring 31 runs, he also took 1 wicket. This is GT's second consecutive win in the tournament. This team won the first match against Lucknow.

1. Ferguson gave his best

Lockie Ferguson of Gujarat took 4 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs while bowling brilliantly. He took the wickets of Prithvi Shaw (10), Mandeep Singh (18), Pant (43) and Axar (8). This is also his best performance in IPL. In the mega auction, Lockie was bought by Gujarat for Rs 10 crore.

2. Controversy over Lalit's wicket

Lalit Yadav was run out after scoring 25 runs in 22 balls. But it was a controversial run out, it happened that when Vijay Shankar was catching the ball, his foot was already hit by the bails and when the bails fell, he was run out, but Pant also said that he needed to uproot the stump . The umpires explained to Pant that only one bail had fallen, due to which the rule would not be considered.

3. Delhi fail in power play

Chasing the target, Delhi started poorly. In the first 6 overs, the team scored 43 runs and lost 3 wickets. Tim Seifert (3), Prithvi Shaw (10) and Mandeep Singh returned to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs. Shaw and Mandeep were dismissed by Ferguson, while Tim's wicket came into Hardik's account.

4. Hardik comes and Hardik prevails

In the match, Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya took the wicket of Tim Seifert (3) off his very first ball. Seifert is caught by Abhinav Manohar at short midwicket. Pandya did 4 overs in the match and put 1 wicket for 22 runs in his bag.
