Punjab beat Chennai by 54 runs: CSK lost 3 consecutive matches for the first time in IPL history, Jadeja also failed in batting with captaincy

On Sunday, Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 54 runs in the IPL. Batting first, Punjab had scored 180 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Liam Livingstone (60) was the top scorer. While Shikhar Dhawan (33) and Jitesh Sharma scored 26 runs. Chris Jordan and Dwayne Pretorius took 2 wickets each for CSK.

Chasing a target of 181 runs, CSK could only manage 126 runs and lost the match by 54 runs. Shivam Dubey scored the highest 57 runs. Dhoni scored 23 runs in 28 balls. Rahul Chahar took 3 wickets for Punjab. Liam Livingstone and Vaibhav Arod took 2 wickets each.



Brilliant innings from Dubey



In difficult conditions, Shivam Dubey completed the second half-century of his IPL career in 26 balls while batting brilliantly. Dubey's innings came when CSK lost 5 wickets at 36. Shivam was dismissed for 57 off 30 balls by Livingstone. Before being dismissed, Shivam Dubey added 62 runs from 46 balls with Dhoni for the sixth wicket.


Arora on debut



His IPL debut was amazing for Vaibhav Arod. The young fast bowler of Punjab Kings took 2 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs. He took the wickets of Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali. In the auction, Punjab had bought Vaibhav for Rs 2 crore.


Jadeja got out for the 7th time



Ravindra Jadeja, captaining for the first time in IPL, could not show amazing with the bat in this match. He was dismissed in 3 balls without opening the account. He was bowled by Arshdeep Singh and showed the way out of the field. Jadeja got out for zero for the 7th time in IPL history.


4 wickets lost in power play



The first 6 overs were no less than a nightmare for Chennai. The team had scored 27 runs in the power play and lost only 4 wickets. Rituraj Gaikwad (1), Robin Uthappa (13), Moeen Ali (0) and Ravindra Jadeja (0) were dismissed.

In the second over, Rituraj was dismissed for 1 run off the last ball of Kagiso Rabada. His catch was caught by Shikhar Dhawan at first slip. Punjab could have scored big
