Sanjay alias Shubham Dixit, accused of setting fire to a multi in Indore's Swarn Bagh Colony, was arrested by the police on Saturday night. 7 people died in this fire. After being caught, the accused confessed to committing the crime. He told that he was in love with a girl living in Multi. Due to a dispute with him, he had set the car on fire. He also broke his arms and legs while trying to escape from the police. After which the police took him to MY Hospital late night in an injured condition.
The accused told the police, 'I got very upset with a girl named Sana. He did me very wrong. He made me spend a lot. I have always given him money, never asked for it. She always asked for money for something or the other. Sometimes give something, sometimes give something. Later it turns out, she is making a fool. Engaged with many people. I thought I would never talk to her, so she fell behind me. I just wanted to burn his car seat. Thought I would finish everything after that. I didn't know that something so big would happen.
'I came to know about this on Saturday morning when the same girl got a call. He told that the multi has caught fire. I stayed at home all day. In the evening it came to know that TV has also come. I had no idea what to do. Then spoke to a friend, I told him that I will surrender.
In this regard, the station in-charge Tehzeeb Qazi told that the mobile of the accused was on till 9:00 pm. And he was constantly talking to his friend whose location was tracked and the accused Sanjay Dixit was arrested by the police near Niranjanpur intersection of Lasudia area. After getting the CCTV footage of the incident, it was clear that a white-shirted youth had set the vehicles on fire.
When a girl resident of the area told the police about Sanjay, who was a madman behind this incident, the police were shocked and brought Sana, who lives there, to the police station and after interrogating her till late night, the whole incident became clear.
The accused was annoyed by the marriage of the girl elsewhere
According to the police, the accused also lived as a tenant in this multi earlier. There was also a dispute between him and the girl in many other matters including ten thousand rupees. After this, Sanjay left the house six months ago. He has worked in many places in Indore. According to the police, a murder case will be registered against Sanjay. There will be more revelations in his interrogation.

In the CCTV footage obtained by the police, a youth wearing a white shirt was seen coming at 2.54 pm on Friday night, who took out petrol from a vehicle parked in the parking lot and set it on fire. After this the accused was also seen going in the footage. After sometime the young man again came into the building. He was seen tampering with the CCTV cameras and electricity meters installed in the multi. However, the CCTV of the building in which the fire broke out in Swarn Bagh was completely burnt. Police recovered CCTV footage and DVRs of three houses from the area.
