Cyclone Asani has changed its course within 24 hours. The cyclone has moved towards Andhra Pradesh amid fears that it will move towards Odisha and Bay of Bengal by Tuesday. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh. That is, the storm can cause havoc in the state. After this alert, the intermediate examinations to be held today in the state have been postponed.

In view of Asani, all IndiGo flights (22 arrivals and 22 departures) have been canceled in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. At the same time, AirAsia has canceled one flight each from Bangalore and Delhi to Visakhapatnam.




IMD scientist, Sanjeev Dwivedi said that the cyclone may hit the Andhra Pradesh coast between Kakinada and Visakhapatnam by Wednesday morning. After that it can reach west-central Bay of Bengal. Due to this, a red alert has been issued in Andhra Pradesh. The effect of the storm will also remain in Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh. From May 11 to 13, it will rain here, as well as strong winds.

According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain with very heavy rain at one or two places is possible over Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Light to moderate rain at isolated places is likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Odisha, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and South Karnataka and Kerala.

Light to moderate rain is likely over Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, rest of Northeast India, eastern parts of Bihar and Jharkhand and isolated parts of Western Himalayas. Light rain may occur over the foothills of Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Interior Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh.

Moderate to strong winds very likely over Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. Wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph. The sea condition will remain rough and there will be high waves. Heat wave conditions are very likely over South Haryana, parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and isolated parts of Vidarbha.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls occurred over Kerala and Gangetic West Bengal. Light to moderate rain at one or two places has occurred over parts of Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Light to moderate rain occurred over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
