Rajasthan: Independent needs 8 votes to win, so many independent MLAs are angry with Gehlot
Of the four Rajya Sabha seats in Rajasthan, two are sure to go to the Congress and one to the BJP. In the fourth seat, there is a contest between Congress and independent candidate Subhash Chandra. Because in Rajasthan there is a government of Ashok Gehlot of Congress. Gehlot is a leader with a strong hold on the MLAs. His reach is not only in Congress and independent MLAs, but it is even said that he has the power to break BJP MLAs also if needed.
At the same time, as an independent candidate, Subhash Chandra has put all his strength to bring the angry MLAs to his side. They are also being helped fully by the BJP.
Sensing the possibility of cross voting, CM Ashok Gehlot has tried to remove the displeasure of each and every MLA. In this regard, he also issued swift orders in the past.
This is the math of victory: To win a candidate in Rajasthan, votes of 41 MLAs are required. Three candidates Mukul Wasnik, Randeep Surjewala and Pramod Tiwari are in the fray from the Congress. The votes of 123 MLAs are required for the three candidates, while the government currently has the support of 126 MLAs, of which 107 are from the Congress. As long as the angry or independent MLAs do not go here and there, the victory of the Congress is certain.
Eight independent MLAs are believed to be angry, whose loss is certain for the third candidate.
On the other hand, the victory of BJP candidate Ghanshyam Tiwari is also certain, because BJP has 71 MLAs. Tiwari will win as soon as he gets 41 votes, while 30 BJP MLAs will vote for independent Subhash Chandra. Chandra also has the support of 3 RLP MLAs. They need only 8 MLAs. By camping in Jaipur, they are busy garnering the support of the MLAs.
