1. BJP's coup campaign in Madhya Pradesh passes

Strategy of 'Operation Lotus':

Putting disgruntled Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and his supporting MLAs in BJP's court and toppling Kamal Nath's government. For this, the command was handed over to BJP leader Narottam Mishra.

What happened:

No party got majority in the 2018 assembly elections. Congress formed the government on crutches of BSP and independents. On the one hand, the government did not have a strong numbers, on the other hand Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia was upset with his neglect in the party.

This was the most favorable situation for 'Operation Lotus'. Big leaders of BJP contacted Scindia and on 9 March 2020, Scindia revolted with his supporting MLAs. These MLAs were taken to Bangalore by charter plane.

Even after all the efforts, Scindia did not agree and the Kamal Nath government came in a minority. On 20 March 2020, after being the Chief Minister for just 15 months, Kamal Nath resigned and the Congress government fell. Shivraj Singh Chouhan became the new Chief Minister of the state.

Now look at the most powerful picture of this story…

Picture of Kamal Nath's press conference before resigning. Talking to reporters, Kamal Nath said that 22 of our MLAs were taken hostage in Karnataka by luring them. The entire state is a witness to this. People will never forgive these covetous people who cheated the people of the state.

2. Attempt to shake Ashok Gehlot's throne in Rajasthan failed

Strategy of 'Operation Lotus':

Angry Sachin Pilot for not being able to become CM of Rajasthan, toppling Ashok Gehlot's government by putting Congress MLAs in BJP's court. For this, important responsibility was entrusted to the State Unit of Rajasthan BJP.

What happened:

In the 2018 elections in Rajasthan, the Congress barely touched the majority mark by winning 100 seats. CM Ashok Gehlot tried to strengthen his chair by putting BSP and independents in the court of Congress. At the same time, Sachin Pilot, who was the face of Congress in the assembly, continued his efforts to become the CM.

In such a situation, Sachin Pilot was the most favorable face for BJP's 'Operation Lotus'. Rajasthan BJP leaders, sensing their displeasure, contacted him. 11 July 2020 Sachin Pilot opened a front against Gehlot and reached a hotel in Gurugram with 18 Congress MLAs.

Gehlot also became active to save his chair. First of all, he kept the MLAs who raised him in a hotel. After this, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra convinced Sachin Pilot by talking to him on 10 August 2020. Here Gehlot prevailed. BJP's strategy to break Congress MLAs failed.
