Pakistani journalist's U turn on ISI controversy: Nusrat Mirza said - never met Hamid Ansari, definitely met Manmohan Singh

Pakistani journalist Nusrat Mirza had claimed in an interview that she had met five times with Hamid Ansari, the Vice President of India. During this, he handed over the information obtained to Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. After this the politics heated up. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia held a press conference and accused Hamid Ansari of betraying the country.

Now Nusrat Mirza has reversed her statement. During an interview with Bhaskar, he said that he never met Hamid Ansari personally. The documents he gave to the ISI had nothing to do with India. Those documents were related to allegations of former Soviet spy present at a seminar on terrorism in 2010. What else Nusrat Mirza said, read the full interview

Question: There has been an uproar in India on your statement, what would you say on this whole controversy?

Answer: This is not an issue. This unnecessary controversy has been created. I am a senior journalist of 80 years and I was made a spy. My life is like an open book. His problem is with Hamid Ansari, he wanted to target Hamid Ansari and in his affair targeted me too.

If you talk to anyone here in Pakistan, he will tell you how vocal I am. Will any agency person allow me to come to him, he will think that he will keep our information away. That is why I have stopped speaking on this subject. Since you called, it's my responsibility to speak with adb.

Question: How many times have you been to India, how many times did you meet Hamid Ansari?

Answer: I have never had a personal meeting with Hamid Ansari. I attended a seminar. Hamid Ansari was the chief guest in it. I was the speaker there. You can watch his old videos by extracting them. How much I admired Atal ji. There were Hindus in that seminar, there were Sikhs. The Ambassador of Pakistan was also present. I gave a speech in the direction of connecting the two countries.

After this a seminar was also held in Karachi. Many people were called from India. There were also journalists in it. There is a dispute about which now, so what can I do? This doesn't happen with us here. The way anchors talk to you here, no anchor can talk to us like this. I am an anchor myself. For the rest of me this matter is over.

Question: You say that smoke is rising without fire, if you did not meet Hamid Ansari, then whom did you meet?

Answer: What can I do on the ruckus that is happening in India. The only thing is that one person wanted to frame us, tried to keep things twisted. Now that thing is stuck in his throat.

I have lived an open life since the age of 18. It is being said that I gave Indian intelligence to Khurshid Kasuri (former Foreign Minister of Pakistan). That's a lie. Being Kasuri's friend is not a big deal for me. Meeting him is like meeting a younger brother. I was also his father's friend. His father was the Law Minister of Pakistan in 1970. I was a student leader during that period.

I have also had relations with Benazir. Was an advisor in Nawaz Sharif's cabinet. What is the issue with all this? I have been a part of power politics.

Let me make three things clear - neither did I meet Hamid Ansari personally, nor did I have any conversation with him. The extent is that when I came, I had only salutations from him. I had definitely met Manmohan Singh ji on that visit. He also inquired about my well being. There was no talk with Hamid Ansari, nor did he inquire about my well being. He went straight to the stage. I felt bad about this too.
