Baran-Atru Congress MLA Panachand Meghwal has resigned after the death of a Dalit child due to the beating of a teacher in Rajasthan's Jalore. Meghwal has sent his resignation to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the Speaker of the Assembly. In this, he has given the reason for his resignation because of being hurt by the death of a Dalit student due to the beating of the teacher.
After resigning, Meghwal said- I had demanded financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh to the victim's family and a government job to a member of his family.
He said that even after 24 hours there was no response. After that I sent him my resignation. Panachand Meghwal is a second time MLA. He has won the elections from Baran-Atru on Congress ticket both the times.

Meghwal said that in the name of drinking water from a pot, Dalits and downtrodden are being put to death by giving severe torture for climbing a horse and keeping a moustache. The judicial process is being stalled by moving the files here and there in the name of investigation. Incidents of atrocities against Dalits have been on the rise in the last few years.
It seems that there is no one to protect the equality right which Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had provided for the Dalits and the downtrodden in the Constitution. In most cases of atrocities on Dalits, FR (Final Report) is imposed. I raised such matters many times in the assembly, despite that the police administration did not swoop into action.
When we fail to protect the rights of our society and get them justice, then we have no right to be in office. On the voice of my conscience, I resign from the post of MLA. Accept my resignation from the post of MLA so that I can serve the deprived and exploited section of the society without any post.

On Monday, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Tikaram Juli, Labor Minister Sukhram Vishnoi, Chairman of Public Absence Case Redressal Committee Pukhraj Parashar and Chairman of Scheduled Castes Commission Khiladi Lal Bairwa reached Surana village to meet the victim's family.
