Imtiaz Ghanchi, a witness in the Bilkis Bano case, has received threats. The charge is against Radheshyam Shah, one of the 11 convicts in the case, who was released on August 15. This is the case of 15th September. Imtiaz has sent an application to the Chief Justice of India, Human Rights Office, Dahod DM and SP on 19 September. There was talk of threat and threat to life.

After this, on September 23, when I inquired about the application from the SP and DM office, the reply was received that no such paper has been received so far. To confirm this, Bhaskar called Dahod DM and SP office, then it came to know that SP is on leave. DM said that we did not get any such complaint.

Called me and said - now it is your turn to run away: Imtiaz

On the evening of September 15, I was going from Randhikpur to Deoghar Baria. Peeplod village falls on the way. There is a railway crossing there. Then it would be around 8 o'clock. I was passing by when Radheshyam called me. He was in his car and I was on the bike. I went to him in fear. He asked - is everything fine. I said yes, everything is fine. Then he said, you have done all this, what have you spoiled us? We are out now. Now it's your turn to run away. Now we will kill you by running away.'

Imtiaz also received threats in 2019

Bhaskar had met Imtiaz while doing the ground report of the Bilkis Bano case. They had met at the camp for the riot victims in Deoghar Baria, the in-laws of Bilkis. He still expressed his fear. It was said that the convicts used to threaten the people of the village when they came out on parole.

Ghanchi had told that Govind Bhai Nai, one of the culprits, had come on parole once, he threatened and misbehaved with our children. Threatened me too. I gave a complaint to the police station on 30th September 2019, made many rounds, but nothing happened.

While reporting, Bhaskar's team also went to Radheshyam Shah's house. There we were told that he had gone to Ujjain to seek a vow.
