September 05: Ukraine counter-attacks to recapture Kharkiv province in north-east Ukraine. September 11: Ukraine retakes Balaklia, Kupiansk and Izium in Kharkiv province.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said in his statement- 'Since the beginning of September, our troops have liberated about 6,000 kilometers in eastern and southern Ukraine. We are moving ahead.

In fact, Ukraine has carried out the biggest counterattack in Kharkiv province of North Eastern Ukraine. He recaptured the cities of Balaklia, Kupiyansk and Izium.

On 11 September Russia's state channel, Russian State TV, acknowledged that Russian forces had to retreat due to the large number of enemy forces in Kharkiv. Ukraine has captured these cities. Earlier, on the retreat of its forces from Kupiansk and Izium, Russia had said that it had sent its army to Kherson.

Ukraine's capture of Kupiansk and Izium is important. Both these hubs are considered for the supply of the Russian army in the Donbass. Not only this, Ukraine has also opened a strong front against Russia in Lyman, Donbass.

According to some reports, Ukraine has snatched about 9 thousand square kilometers of territory from Russia in September itself.

This success of Ukraine has also dealt a blow to Russia's plan to occupy eastern Ukraine i.e. Donbas region. Since 2014, Luhansk in the Donbass and large areas of Donetsk have been occupied by Russian-backed separatists.

Russia has achieved the most success in this war in the Donbass region, but the recent counter-attack by Ukraine has stopped the pace of its mission. Ukraine has also opened a front against Russian forces in Kherson in the south. There the war continues between the two. It is Ukraine's biggest success since pushing back Russian forces from the capital Kyiv in April.
