A political battle has started in Maharashtra over the grave of Mumbai blast convict Yakub Memon. The BJP has alleged that during the tenure of the Uddhav government, marble and LED lights were installed around the grave. BJP leader Ram Kadam has also released its pictures on social media. However, after the question of Ram Kadam was raised, the Mumbai Police got the LED removed from the grave.
Ram Kadam wrote a post on social media and said – Why has the tomb of the culprit Yakub been decorated? Why is so much respect being given to the grave of the man who was responsible for the death of hundreds of people? Yakub was convicted of the 1993 bomb blasts and was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court.

Congress has targeted the BJP amid the ongoing controversy over Yakub's grave. Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe said that the dead bodies of terrorists are not given to their families after hanging. In 2015, the BJP government handed over Yakub's body to his family. BJP is doing politics on this now.

Yakub Memon, accused of Mumbai blasts, used to look after Dawood's financial work
The 1993 Mumbai bomb blast convict Yakub was a chartered accountant. He was involved in the conspiracy of the blasts. According to the CBI chargesheet, Yakub used to look after the finances of the terrorist organization of Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon. In 1994, the CBI arrested Yakub from the New Delhi railway station.
In 2013, the Supreme Court convicted him and sentenced him to death, after which Yakub was hanged in Nagpur jail in 2015.
