5 including 3 children burnt alive in mother's pandal: Lord Shankar in UP - Crowd gathered to watch mother Kali's Leela, short circuit happened

A horrific accident took place in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday evening. So far 5 people have died due to fire in a Durga pandal here. These include 3 children and 2 women. While the condition of 41 is critical. Apart from these, 11 people have minor burns. All of them have been referred to BHU in Varanasi. The accident took place at Narthua in Aurai area. It is being told that about 150 people were present in the pandal at the time of the accident.





According to the police, the fire started when the play of Lord Shankar and Kali Maa was being staged in the pandal. This caused an uproar. People started running here and there to save their lives. Due to the large crowd, people got caught in the fire before they could come out. Neighbors somehow pulled out the people. An eyewitness woman Buddhi said that the fire started due to short-circuit. After this it spread throughout the pandal.

Fire brigade car was not parked despite worship permission

At the time of the incident, there were mostly women and children in the pandal.

The permission for Durga Puja was taken. However, the fire brigade of the fire department was not standing around the premises. The fire brigade team reached the spot after 20 minutes. The fire was brought under control after 2 hours of effort. The injured were then taken to the hospital by ambulance.

There was chaos after the fire. People started running here and there to save their lives.

It is being told that inside there was a pandal like a cave of Mother. On one side there was an idol of Mother. Witness Vinay says, the leela of Shankar and Kali Maa was being staged. It was time for Aarti. That's why 150 to 200 people were present in the pandal. Suddenly a fire breaks out. Seeing the fire, we reached running. Pulled the curtain and tore it so that people could run outside.

This photo was taken after the fire was extinguished. The pandals and tableaux were completely burnt in the accident.

Another woman said, 'The fire spread very fast in the pandal. The flames were going up. People themselves came to the rescue. Started pouring water. Somehow people were saved.
