The resolution brought in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to debate the status of human rights of Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang province of China could not be passed. India did not participate in the voting of this resolution. There is a lot of discussion about India not voting against China. Many Muslim countries, including Pakistan, have supported China instead of Uighur Muslims, voting against this proposal.

How and why did the resolution brought against China in UNHRC fall?
On 7 October, a resolution was brought in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to discuss the persecution of Uighur Muslims in China's Xinjiang province.
The proposal was introduced by a group of countries such as the US, UK, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. For this, voting was held in the 47-member UNHRC and the decision was in favor of China.
19 countries opposed this proposal, that is, supported China. These included many Muslim countries including Pakistan and Indonesia.
17 countries, including the US, Britain, France, Germany and Japan, voted in favor of the resolution i.e. against China.
