Uddhav Thackeray has submitted a list of his party's name and symbol to the Election Commission (EC) for the by-elections to be held in Andheri East, Mumbai. The Uddhav faction took this step when the EC frozen the Shiv Sena's symbol arrow-command on the petition of the Shinde faction.
After the decision of EC, Shinde and Uddhav faction will not be able to use this symbol in elections. In some reports, quoting sources, it has been claimed on Sunday that the Uddhav faction has given two names to the EC. First- Shiv Sena Balasaheb Thackeray and second- Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray. The Uddhav group has given their first choice as Trishul, the second sign is the rising sun.
Within a short time, a meeting of the leaders of the Uddhav faction was held in Matoshree, in which the new name and symbol of the party were discussed as per the instructions of the Election Commission.
Pawar said - Shiv Sena will not end, symbol will not make any difference
Here, while talking to reporters in Aurangabad, Sharad Pawar said – The decision of the Election Commission is not shocking. I was apprehensive about it. The decision of the commission will not end Shiv Sena, but will bring new enthusiasm among the workers of Shiv Sena. He said- My party's symbol was also changed five times, but to no avail.
Lucky for the Thackeray family, the arrow and arrow symbol
Shiv Sena came to power in Maharashtra for the first time in 1995. At that time Manohar Joshi was made the Chief Minister.
Shiv Sena was founded by Balasaheb Thackeray on 19 June 1966, but initially it was working only as a social organization. For the first time in 1968, Shiv Sena was registered as a political organization. The first election the party fought in 1971, the symbol at that time was the date tree.
After this, the Shiv Sena, railway engine and shield-sword also remained the symbol of the party, but did not get success. In 1985, senior Thackeray took the symbol of arrow-command and contested the Mumbai municipal elections. The party won it by a huge margin and formed the government with the support of the Congress.
