The third and final match of the three T20 match series between India and South Africa is to be played in Indore on Tuesday. The Indian team has already won the series by winning the first two matches held in Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati. Therefore, the Indian team management has decided to rest star batsman Virat Kohli from the third match.
Virat leaves for Mumbai
After getting rest from the third match, Virat Kohli left for Mumbai to meet his family. He played unbeaten innings of 3 and 49 runs in two matches against South Africa. The World Cup is to start in Australia this month. In view of this, it has been decided to give rest to Virat.
Virat scored an unbeaten 49 in the second T20 and also made a great partnership with Suryakumar Yadav.

Shreyas Iyer may get a place in playing-11
In the absence of Virat, now Shreyas Iyer can be included in the playing-11 in the third T20 match. Iyer was included in the squad for this series due to Deepak Hooda's injury. Iyer was not included in the playing 11 in the first two matches.
Rishabh Pant will also get exposure
The Indian team has been adding Dinesh Karthik as the first choice wicketkeeper-batsman for the last few matches. Due to this, despite being included in the playing-11, Rishabh Pant could not get a chance to bat in the matches against South Africa. In the absence of Virat, Pant can be given batting exposure so that he can find the rhythm before the World Cup. Pant is included in the 15-man squad announced for the World Cup.
Virat also took rest from West Indies tour
Virat had earlier also decided to take rest from the ODI and T20 series against West Indies. Due to being out form for almost three years, Virat took a break of one month and during this time he did not even touch the bat. After this he made a strong comeback in the Asia Cup. In the first match against Pakistan, Virat scored a half-century and scored a century in the Super-4 match against Afghanistan. This was Virat's first international century in 1020 days. Virat also featured in the three T20 home series against Australia and scored 2, 11 and 63 runs.
