Helicopter crash in Ukraine's capital Kyiv: 18 including home minister and 2 children killed, accident near school

A helicopter crashed on Wednesday in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. According to news agency AFP, the helicopter crash happened near a child care center and school (kindergarten). 18 people including 2 children have died in the accident. These include Home Minister Denis Monastirski.





According to Ukraine's newspaper 'Kyiv Independent' – all 9 people present in the helicopter have died. Apart from this, two children are among the nine people who have been killed. These were present in Kindergarten. The rest are employees of this kindergarten. A total of 22 people are injured and 10 of them are children.


Pictures of the accident have surfaced on social media. A fire broke out in the kindergarten. Kyiv's Governor Olesiy Kuleba said on his Telegram channel – The accident happened near the kindergarten. Children and some employees there have also died in this. 22 people are seriously injured.


The officials have not yet told which helicopter it was and what was the reason for its crash. The Brovary is actually a town. Its population is about one lakh. It is located east of Kyiv.
