UP Warriors defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 10 wickets in the Women's Premier League (WPL) match on Friday. This is the second victory of UP. Captain Alyssa Healy played an unbeaten inning of 96 for him. This is RCB's fourth consecutive defeat in the tournament. The team captained by Smriti Mandhana has lost all four matches so far. UP, on the other hand, have two wins from three matches.
With the help of Sophia Ecclestone's brilliant bowling, UP bundled out RCB for 138 runs in 19.3 overs. Sophia took four wickets for 13 runs. Apart from them, Deepti Sharma took three wickets for 26 runs and Rajeshwari Gaikwad took one wicket for 26 runs. In response, UP Warriors won the match by scoring 139 runs without losing a wicket in 13 overs with 42 balls remaining.
Ellyse Perry and Devine were the only ones to survive
Ellis Parry scored the most runs for RCB. He played an inning of 52 runs in 39 balls and hit six fours and a six. Apart from Alice Parry, only Sophie Devine (36 runs) was able to face the UP bowlers for some time. RCB captain Smriti Mandhana disappointed the team and she was able to score only four runs.
Healy and Devika made a century partnership
Captain Healy faced 47 balls in his unbeaten half-century innings for UP Warriors and hit 18 fours and a magnificent six. At the same time, Devika Vaidya, playing well with the captain, scored an unbeaten 36 in 31 balls and hit five fours. Both opener batsmen shared an unbeaten 139-run partnership.
Healy scored the highest score of the tournament
Healy was awarded the player of the match for his strong innings. Mandhana used seven bowlers to break this opening pair but could not achieve any success. Healy's innings of 96 not out is the highest by any player in this tournament. Earlier, Tahila McGrath scored 90 not out.
