The Gujarat government has released 11 people convicted of gang-raping Bilkis Bano, a 5-month-old pregnant woman, during the 2002 Gujarat riots. All of them were in jail since 2004. The Special Court of CBI had sentenced the convicts to life imprisonment in 2008.
As much as the family of Bilkis Bano is shocked by the decision to release the convicts, it is equally frightened. Yakub Rasool says that Bilkis is disappointed after coming to know about this. Not talking to anyone. He is not in a condition to say anything.
